Indonesia Jakarta

What should I say. This gigantic capital is hard to love. It s too loud, dirty, and according to statistics the 3rd most polluted city in the world after Mexico D.F. and Bangkok.

Trying to make the most of our last days in Indonesia, we gathered the most interesting activities this city had to offer. So we went to the National Museum. Learning about all the different ethnic diversities this country has to offer. Apart from Java and Sumatra, Nusa Tengara, Papua and Timor are the other island groups bearing much more unexplored civilizations, most of them far far away from modern civilization.

From the museum we headed towards the old harbour. We were lured into a boat tour around the harbour, which in the end turned out to be just fine but whilst being on the water, my impressions about taking this tour were slightly different.

After the grand tour started on a tiny fishin boat we squeezed through the ports parked gigantically big boats and observed their way of life. I have to admit, that when we have reached the canal, the tought occured to me that we might as well just disappear without ever anyone recognizing our missing. Luckily nothing of that sort had happened but we did pass by a man with a weapon that seemed like a gun. When we have reached his hight, a shot went right into the water.

My first toughts were, he s a bad shoter and he just had missed us by accident but while taking a closer look I saw that a thin rope went straight into the water. It was just a harpun.
